CROSSHATCH II

Crosshatch II is a reiteration of one of our most popular collections. First released in 2015, Crosshatch has proven to be loved for its bold, graphic simplicity.

For round two we have reduced the scale and re-coloured the patterns with up-to-date fresh hues perfect for sunny rooms and bright furnishings.

SIMPLE LINES

Crosshatch was originally inspired by the wall drawings of American artist Sol LeWitt.

LeWitt’s early wall drawings were based on a finite series of what he termed simple lines (lines drawn in one of four basic directions: vertical, horizontal, diagonal left, and diagonal right), as well as superimposed lines (the four simple lines layered on top of each other).

By superimposing the lines in a sequential manner, as above in Wall Drawing 56 (1970, LeWitt Collection, Chester, Connecticut), the artist produced progressively darker gradations of tone.

FRESH AND BRIGHT

Crosshatch II features four geometric patterns which have been hand-painted with confidence and precision in fresh and bright colours. Their lightness makes them suitable for sunny, happy spots. Think of sunrooms, garden rooms, kids’ rooms, nurseries, light-filled kitchens and powder rooms.

We have chosen 12 delicious colours divided across all four patterns; however, you can order any of these colours in any of the designs. If you would like a sample for a colour combination not shown in the collection, please let us know.

CROSSHATCH COLLECTION ONE

For those of you holding wallpaper or fabric cuttings from our first Crosshatch Collection, don’t fret!

Although we have archived these patterns and removed them from our website (they will be no longer held in stock by our showrooms), you can still place orders for them now and at any point in the future.

If you would like samples from the first collection or from any other archived patterns, we are more than happy to send them to you.
