Quercus & Co. is a boutique wallpaper and fabric design studio based in Sydney, Australia. Our practice combines hand-painted imperfection with the precision and adaptability of modern technology. We create collections that celebrate the beauty of pattern and colour, and each one tells a unique story. The designs are inspired by elements from the natural world as well as historic influences from the canon of art, design, literature and culture.
Having spent over 20 years exploring the nuances of colour and design as a decorative painter and colourist, our founder, Adam Jones, fulfilled his long-held desire to start his own wallpaper company. In 2012, after purchasing a wide format printer and several rolls of paper, Quercus & Co. was established. The business has since expanded into a thriving studio with a small, efficient team made up of dedicated creatives who work to reinforce Adam’s vision for Quercus & Co. All of our wallpaper and fabric is printed in-house in our Sydney studio.
Quercus & Co products are available to the trade only, locally in Australia and through textile showrooms around the world.
Each of our patterns are painted by Adam in a rigorous, iterative process, before being digitally printed on the highest quality paper and linen currently available. Regarding his design approach to Quercus & Co., Adam has said “I love the rawness of hand-painted techniques and the simplicity these bring to a modern interior. It's the beauty of imperfection that defines our style.” We believe the Quercus & Co. collections embody a handcrafted yet sophisticated aesthetic that is appealing in both residential and commercial interiors.
Our passion is to design and produce painterly and distinctive wallpaper and fabric for the best interiors in the world. We hope the stories told through our designs complement the spaces they dwell within, and form part of a larger story curated by some of the world’s most talented interior designers.
Quercus is the botanical name for the Oak Tree.
